5Live your life to the fullest...  Jul 10, 2010
There's no question about this non-fictional book being a very great story about, Nicholas Sparks, himself and his brother, Micah, that went on a tour around the world to places to visit. It not only tells about being away from their wifes, and how hard it was for them being alone, especially when Catherine, Nicholas Sparks' wife, had to take care of her kids they're were all sick, including herself.

This books talks about both Nicholas and Micah, but it talks about the three deaths that occured, including their sister Dana.

And last, but not least, the Sparks' remind us to live life to the fullest.

I recommend this book to everyone out there. Take my word, I guarantee it.

5Book review  May 27, 2010
If you like Nicholas Sparks books, you don't want to miss this one. It's the real story of his life, his family, and his trip around the world with his brother. It is amusing and very thought provoking, as he thinks about the quirks of his parents and yet his intense love for them. Also it is sad as he tells the tragedies that they suffered. I really enjoyed it.

5Three weeks with my brother  Apr 26, 2010
What a great story that introduces you to this famous author's life and the times of sadness, happiness, courage, and success that he endured. It also intertwines with an "around the world trip" that Nicolas Sparks and his older brother took together after they were in their 30s. A heart warming family story written in that Nicolas Sparks style that makes his books so interesting.

5Three Weeks With My Brother by Nicholas and Micah Sparks  Apr 01, 2010
This is Nicholas Sparks only nonfiction work to date. It is a poignant story of his trip around-the-world with his brother Micah involving three weeks of reflection about their relationship. Additional accounts, both humorous and tragic of past family moments are moving, introspective real life testimonies of growing up as rambunctious children discovering people and places that brought love and loss in equal portions.

I was moved when the author spoke about his sister Dana and her struggle with brain cancer, passing while still a young woman at the tender age of thirty--three.

Nicholas Sparks, while struggling with his sisters health for seven years, hoping for a permanent reversal of her condition that would make her well, also had a little boy named Kyle, who couldn't talk. He and his wife Kathy felt many fears for his future. Working tirelessly with Kyle was incredibly frustrating for them, causing Mr. Sparks to have frequent moments being angry at God.

Many a reader will bond with these personal trials, as we have had them ourselves.Because of this I felt as though I was a close friend of the Sparks's while reading these accounts. Coupled with these glimpses of family life in California and North Carolina is how Nicholas became a best selling author, which I found very interesting, being a writer myself.

Adding to this was fine, descriptive travel writing about all the stops Micah and Nicholas made in cities and countries around the world.

Anyone who takes the time to read this captivating memoir will be richly blessed with knowledge and experience of what it is like to be a human being on this earth.
